Not wanting to forget the feel of the heart of the heart of the valley. She pressed closer
to the ground,until her body was breathing with the earth's.And Papa's.The three hearts
breathing together.She smiled at Papa,not needing,her eyes saying everything.And his smile
answered hers.Telling her that he knew she had felt it.
Reaction: Wow! I feel that Esperanza and her dad really loved their valley and long walks through
it.I think that they really like spending time together and Esperanza loves hanging with her dad and
taking long walks through the valley.Esperanza loves her dad and they really bond with each other and
Esperanza likes learning new things about the valley and when she does something that her dad teaches
her, like lying down on the surface of the valley to hear the valley's heart beat she and her father lay down on
the ground they stay silent and their smiles answer the question if they can the valley's heart beat.

Reaction: I feel that after the fire had happened they had an idea to escape and cross
the border to California to escape from Tio Luis.Abuelita then mentioned the story about
the phoenix and how she used to tell it to Esperanza and suddenly,Esperanza had realized
that they can have a really nice home in California.I think that they would probably have a hard
time in California and then they would help each other out to make their life easier.Esperanza would
finally see that she would make new friends in California and probably keep her old ones along on her
journey across the border.

his daughter and how much her dad

Esperanza's dad had past away Miguel knew he needed to protect Esperanza along with his parents
and their housekeeper Hortensia and her husband Alfonso now that they were in danger with Tio Luis.

Reaction: I feel that she had floated in the air and she was starting to feel the earth,but then
she had a bad feeling and she was surrounded by darkness while her eyes were closed.Then,
when she was still in that ring of darkness she had a feeling that someone had hovered over her
and she sat straight and it turned out to be Miguel who had probably seen her floating in the air.
While sitting there in disbelief of her float she had asked Miguel to not tell her mom because she
might of been worrying.

Now that they had seen the roses planted there,Ramona had told Esperanza that they would
their dad's heart had followed them and gave them happiness and made there day better to see
their roses right in front of them.They can now travel with their dad right alongside them in their incredible
journey.
